NOTICE OF RACE

 

1.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; The Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC) will host the annual     Goombay Regatta on Bisc= ayne Bay     &n= bsp;           May 24 - 25, 2008.   PHRF = boats will race on Saturday, May 24th.  One Design boats will race on          Sunday, May 25th.

2.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Saili= ng, the 2008      &nbs= p;         Biscayne Bay Yacht Racing Association (BBYRA) General Conditions and Sailing Instructions,      = ;   Part I General Conditions, Sections 2, 4, 8, 9, 10 (except for last sentence), 1= 1, 12 and 13; Part II     =     One Design and Part III Cruising, and this Notice of Race.  However, current BBYRA        &= nbsp; Registration is not required for this    =      regatta.

3.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; All PHRF boats not having a 2008 PHRF certificate will be assigned a PHRF Ratin= g (contact        &= nbsp;     David Kurtz at goombay2@bellsout= h.net ).   J-24’s, ARC boat= s and others will be put into    &= nbsp;           the appropriate class based on their assigned PHRF rating.  (PHRF Applications may be      downloaded from www.phrfsef.com) The Race Committee reserves the right to divide the classe= s.

4.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; Entry Fees: $20 payable to CGSC for Saturday’s PHRF race(s); $15 for One De= sign boats racing      =   on Sunday.  Registration form and= entry fee must be received by the Race Committee no later than         1800 Hours on Friday, May 23, 2008 for PHRF boats, and 1800 Hours Saturday, May 24th for One       = ;         Designs. (Registration forms may be downloaded from www.cgsc.org or www.bb= yra.net).

5.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; The 2008 BBYRA General Conditions and Sailing Instructions may be     downloaded from         &= nbsp;       www.bbyra.net.

6.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &n= bsp; The PHRF Regatta on Saturday will consist of a Pursuit Race with Designated Mar= ks specified by   BBYRA General Conditions and Sailing Instructions: Cruising, Sections CR 6.1(a) and CR6.2= .  &nb= sp;   Handicap ratings for this race will be R/L ratings.  All boats should monitor VHF Ch. 72= .

        &= nbsp;       The One-Design Regatta on Sunday will consist of three scheduled races, with Courses and Marks     &= nbsp;           as specified by BBYRA General Conditions and Sailing Instructions: One Design, Sections OD5 and OD6.

        &= nbsp;       One race each day will constitute a regatta. The warning signal for the first s= tart of each day will be     = ;            = at 11:30 hours.

7.0        &= nbsp;  There will be a cookout Saturday, May 24 at CGSC at 1700.  Cost per person will be $12.00 = 211;         &= nbsp;    tickets available at the cookout.

8.0 <= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>        &= nbsp; Awards will be given each day following the racing at approximately 1700 Hours.

9.0        &= nbsp;  Any changes to the Sailing Instructions for the Races on either day will be pos= ted on the Notice      Board at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club by 1700 hours on the previous day.
